The Bad Times dog dance, explained (and yours in 5 minutes).

The Bad Times dog dance is an AI video: one photo of a dog is put into the viral Bad Times argument clip, so the dog plays every beat of the argument in time with the song. To make it with your dog, upload one close-up at bad-times.com and pay $6.99 once. The 14.5-second vertical video arrives in about 5 minutes.

A real Bad Times AI render: a (fictional, AI-generated) Pomeranian doing the whole routine, made from one photo.

Why it looks like a dance

The Bad Times trend is one take of someone losing it at the person filming, lip-synced to “BAD TIMES” by Imael Angel. Nothing in it is choreographed, but every gesture hits the beat. Put a dog in the lead role and the same moves read as a routine, so a lot of people call it the Bad Times dog dance.

The beats are the same in every version, because the AI keeps the original performance and only changes who is in it: the accusing point at the lens, the head grab, the raised “hold on” hand and the lunge at the camera on the loudest beat. With a dog in the lead, they come through as sharp head turns, a mouth that opens and snaps shut with the song, and a lunge right into the lens. (The hands you see in the first second belong to the original clip.)

How to make your dog do it

  1. Pick Your pet stars on the home page (that link selects it for you).
  2. Upload one photo of your dog. A close-up works best, but a sitting or full-body photo is fine: Bad Times AI crops it to the close-up framing of the original for you.
  3. Pay once. Your vertical 9:16 MP4 arrives by email in about 3–5 minutes, with the song already on it.

The Pomeranian above was made from a photo of it sitting on a sofa, whole body in the frame. The more of the frame the face fills, the sharper the result.

Tips for the best dog dance

  • Both eyes visible and looking at the camera; a treat held just above the lens helps.
  • Daylight near a window. Black or very dark dogs need extra light so the face reads.
  • One dog per photo, no sunglasses, costumes or straps across the face.

Quick answers

Is the dog in the Bad Times dog dance video real?

The dog’s look comes from a real photo, but the moves don’t. An AI video model takes one photo of the dog and re-renders the original one-take Bad Times clip with the dog in it, so every point, head grab and lunge comes from the original performance.

Is it a dance or an argument?

Both, sort of. The original Bad Times clip is an over-the-top argument with the person filming, but every gesture lands on the beat of the song, so with a dog in the lead role it reads like a dance routine. People search for it either way.

Can my small dog do it?

Yes. Size and breed don’t matter; the photo does. Get down to eye level and fill the frame with your dog’s face so the AI keeps the close-up.

Can my dog and I be in the same video?

Not in one video: the trend has one star and the AI swaps that one star. With the 3-pack you can make one video of your dog and one of yourself, and post them back to back.
